Galway Pub Scrawl #93 - Sometimes Artists need elbow protection

Another night of fun and Art in the Pub! A quieter night than usual, but still lots of fun to be had. Katie in particular entertained us with her singing in various registers. :)

See - here they all are, having the craic.

Chuck was drawing this man and his magnificent facial hair.

Nico was drawing portraits as well.

I was trying to copy Durer (trying operative world).

Helen was making this colourful blanket/evening dress.

Mary was making designs.

Katie was drawing cute raggy nuns.

And Patrick was designing monsters!

And that's it for another Pub Scrawl! Join us in a week for the triumphant return of admin Mondays, and in two weeks time for another outstanding PUB SCRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWL!

Galway Pub Scrawl #82 - 5 go mad in McSwiggans!

A quiet night in the Pub tonight, even though I advertised Pub Scrawl as the perfect antidote to St. Patrick's Day!! What better way to recover than go back to the pub, but this time for Art? Ah well, a cure not taken up by everyone but by some brave souls. :)

Super quick notice - our own Katie Creaven is in the Galway Musical Society production of Jekyll & Hyde that runs for the next 5 days or so in the Black Box Theatre. You can find out more & get your tickets on Facebook, through the Town Hall Theatre, etc etc. It's going to be a hell of a show, you should go check it out.

Here's the Art -

The brave souls! -

I was drawing a shaman-girl of some kind "getting stoned" was the pun of the night....

Chuck was continuing his serial killer sketchbook motif in a whole new sketchbook!

Shahzad came to join us again. Lovely pastel works -

Katie swung by after rehearsals (see above) and tried to make sense of Patrick's radio man sketchbook...

Make sense of it, if you can!

Yolande was keeping the craft corner alive -

And Anita actually went with the theme in the name of the night and drew the Famous Five! Weirdo. :)

That's it for another Pub Scrawl! Make sure to go see Jekyll & Hyde and come back in two weeks for another amazing Galway Pub Scrawl #83 - Pub Scrawl DEFINITELY contains nuts!

Galway Pub Scrawl #70 - AARGH!!! FROGS!!!

Oh my god, the weather was disgusting in Galway tonight. Pub Scrawl was correspondingly quiet, I can't blame anyone. It was horrible out. Some people still struggled into the Pub, these are the heroes of this world. Heroes or fools, the line between, as usual is very thin.

Anyway, photos!

Here we are, wet and bedraggled. :)

I was copying portrait photographs as always, another one from portrait-photos.org

Yolande was knitting shells.

Ger was tweaking his comics.

New scrawler Helen was crocheting Bender!

And Ger was so productive he worked on another piece as well!

That's it from a very, very wet and windy Galway this week. Check back in for announcements next Monday and our Third birthday in two weeks time!

Galway Pub Scrawl #65 - Puny human number one

A very fun - but super warm - night at the Pub Scrawl! Jeebus it's humid here in Galway at the minute - you could dilute your watercolours with your sweat these days.

We're thinking that we'll run our 30 day drawing challenge for the Pub Scrawl through the month of July. Topics will be finalised soon! ANYONE all around the world is encouraged to jump in on this one. When we post the days' results, post a comment with your version of the topic!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's your pictures from last night!

Everyone working away - note Mary's snazzy waistcoat.

Wait - Jenny has a snazzy waistcoat too? It's the night of the waistcoat!

Ger knocked out a great one - love the logo up top!

Darren hits those watercolours - awesomely!

Patrick's work with his notes & busy work all about.

Linda gives us this Raven!

Smoke is hard to draw, but my Robot is meant to be hovering.

Yolande crochets away as always. So intricate!

Mary plays with boats and grey tones...

And Jenny paints in oil-effect on her iPad! Very cool.

And that was that! Make sure to tune in ALL THROUGH JULY for the awesome 30(1?) day drawing challenge!

donalfall out.

Galway Pub Scrawl #57 - Clown Car

Galway Pub Scrawl #57 - Clown Car

One of our best nights at the Pub Scrawl! Then again, I say that about them all. :P Lots of fun and some very strange discussion going on (isn't it always).

Without further ado, pictures:

Big crowd at this week's Pub Scrawl (retroactively apt title)

Some times I feel we should be called Galway HP PubCraft -

Mary shows her prep work for her great Qwertee entry. If you haven't, you should go throw her a vote!

Jenny is snake-ily productive (wa wa)

Patrick has been playing with mirrors again...

and I was playing with my old foe, cross-hatching.

Linda draws a fae creature -

The other endof the table - Keith holding court....

Iggy tries to make a strategy for beating a line-up...

Nico examines movement - great studies here!

Jay studies boob structure. More questionable, perhaps. :)

And seeing as I caught it, Ger with some prep work for some....

Armour, of course! He just can't stop with the armour. :)

Really great night all round! Our next date is a Bank Holiday, so a lot will depend on how crazy the pub is, but it should be fine. See you back here in 2 weeks or so for another edition of the Galway Pub Scrawl! Also, I have plans for a new feature for the blog, coming soon!
